The homeownership program got its start in 2012. As many businesses were climbing out of the recession that hit the nation in 2008, we started to build. We worked collectively with the City of Fort Wayne to help stabilize the Renaissance Pointe area in Southeast Fort Wayne by building new homes. The intent was to bring new construction into blighted areas, employing local contractors, and providing a new housing option.
The initial program started with 66 homes. Fast forward to the present day, and we are nearing 110 homes with locations in Fort Wayne, Columbia City, and Linton, Indiana. At its core, the program is relevant to folks who are pit amongst renting but are not quite bankable for a home loan.
Our brand new three and four-bedroom homes allow persons to continue renting at affordable rates, simulating homeownership. Their residency connects them to professional management, a resident service coordinator linking them to community resources, and incentive programs.
Qualifying homes in our program may be eligible for up to $2,500 in credit to build a brand new home with our sister-company (Ideal Builders). Homeownership is the American Dream, and with enough work, our residents can choose to remain in the homes or move on to purchase or build. If the goals of the resident align with the vision of this homeownership incubator program, anything is possible.
If you are in that position, yearning to own but continue renting, get in touch with us. We'd love to see how our program can help you.
